Spring Spring Spring

Finland, Life March 16, 2017

“Spring spring spring!” That’s what I was singing in a very high pitched voice this morning while the sound of the wind and birds were coming through the open window. Oh, how wonderful are these days full of sunshine and warmer temperatures, with birds singing and people having a smile on their faces because the blue sky makes everyone so much happier. This morning Tommo picked me up from home and we wandered through the sun on our way for lunch. I was humming a song of Beauty and the Beast, which I will watch in the cinema tomorrow with Tiina, and Tommo was joining in, so we were dancing through the streets singing silly and being so happy because of the weather. The wind was so nice in my hair.

After my class, I’ve put all my art supplies into my leaf-backpack put on my new hair clip and made my way to the first meeting of the Helsinki Drawing Club which Mia and her friend Sasha invented and it was so so nice to meet those people and just draw for hours. We exchanged so many tips and experiences, jokes, and laughter. I can’t wait for the next meeting! What a lovely day!

I feel homeless – Where do I belong?

As cheesy and romanticized it might sound but when I am in the woods, strolling through the trees, laying in the soft green moss with the sun shining on my face, I feel home. I feel like this is where I belong to, the place where I am in peace. I don’t know what it is about the forest but it makes me feel eased and calm.

Happy Sunday, everyone! I hope you slept well and enjoyed the morning with your favourite breakfast and the sun greeting you. I woke up shortly after six and made my way to the stables again to take care of the horses.

Happy Midsummer, everyone! It has been insanely hot here the past couple of days, but now it finally cooled down and the sky is covered in clouds while the wind is running through the trees in our garden. I am sitting at my window watching them, thinking.

Fear of the future – When the uncertainty becomes scary

I am a written paper of a story not yet told – Sometimes I feel like my story has been written already, that our lives are determined, but yet the future is a blank page. It makes no sense because our future can’t be prescribed but still alterable. I believe that things will come how they should, that my fate is already chosen, but recently I found myself being scared of the uncertainty of the future more and more often.

On the 25th of August, I arrived in Helsinki in the evening after almost missing my flight, because I got to the airport too late due to a delay of the train. I left my suitcase at the door of the hotel room and jumped on the bed right away. Tiina had picked me up from the railway station and we walked to the hotel together, while I felt like a ghost walking through the streets where I once lived.
